New part and I bought it for a back up. ...
New part and I bought it for a back up. These defrost timer fail from time to time. The motor goes bad or the max time setting adjustment for defrost stops working.

Replaces most but not all Paragon 8145-20 timers
A good new timer but does not replace the older Paragon 8145-20 timers. It will replace the newer ones (snap in) but the not old ones with the 2 pins that screw in to secure it. The DT8145 is thicker and I ended up changing the entire box which was difficult because it was "hard piped" in and out of both sides. I have used the 8145-20M which is the timer without the box for this application many times without a problem.
