The Performance 3 is the culmination of years of designing, tweaking, and improving - but most importantly, listening to guitarists and their views on what a guitar capo SHOULD do. Almost as fast to position as a simple spring capo – but faster, because you don't need to retune.
Very good capo, well made, simple, and functional. only bad thing is the length od strin press should be a little longer for wider neck guitars and able to be used n biiger neck guitars like 12 strings and resonators, classicals.
I've got a dozen+ capos including the other top rated ones (Chubb, Planet Waves & DÁddario) and overall this is the best one.
It's one limiting factor is price.
But once you factor looks, speed, quality, and performance, this is the one I'd buy again.
I also own two g7th Performance 2 capos (and three Performance 3 capos). The Performance 3 is better - I get a clean sound with less pressure since the top pads adjust. (I have 11 guitars)
One interesting note - one of the my Performance 3 Capos did buzz (it was an open box return). It buzzed because once you applied pressure to clasp down - it would slightly give back a little. Basically it was defective. I noticed a few bad reviews stating the Performance 3 always buzzed. Likely caused by the defective clutch inside.
The Performance 3 works very well (and 2) and they give me a great sound.
Recommend them!
Have used different capos and by far the G7th capo is the best one for electric or acoustic guitar. Stays in tune no matter where you put it. Quick and easy to use.
I've used the G7th 3 on 4 different acoustic guitars. All of them stayed in tune and sounded great .
Getting to know the best place between frets helps for fast placement. I've used several capos over the years and the G7th 3 gets a high rating on its ease of use and self adjusting fit.
