The Umarex MP40 is a superb replica in appearance, weight, and realism. As it says in the instruction manual, do not take this to public places. It is that real. There are a couple of areas of note: care must be taken when loading the magazine; the bb’s must be staggered in the slot or it will misfeed. I use an old dental tool to move them into proper position. Also, if Crossman CO2 cartridges are used, care must be taken to ensure that both cartridges are pierced because Crossman cartridges are a bit shorter that other brands. I machined a spacer that Fits between the cartridges and properly separates them and I’ve not had any problems. I also usr Umarex black oxide bb’s. It is a blast to shoot and with short bursts, sounds very realistic. I load 40 rounds per magazine and get 3 magazines per 2 CO2 cartridges. Hope this helps.Read full review

The BB gun is realistic, though it would be nice if they used the guns actual safe instead of an additional switch under the gun. Still it looks great. It is made of metal and is the approximate size and weight of an actual MP40. However the BB feed system was faulty right out of the box. I used high quality steel BBs and name brand CO2 and it still would not fire more than 6 BBs in a row. I contacted Umarex and they said they would look at it but I had to pay to ship it back to them. They also said they may charge me to repair it. Mind you this is a BRAND NEW BB GUN. I sent them a message and explained that I don't see why I need to pay anything for a warranty repair. At this point they have not responded. I messed with it and got it to work for now. It has also developed an issue with puncturing the C02 cylinders. One time it only punctured one. But, when it fires correctly it is truly awesome. It has a "blow back" system which really makes the gun realistic. But it goes through BBs at an alarming rate as well as CO2 cylinders. So be prepared to invest in a good supply of both. By the way the procedure for filling the mag with BBs can be very annoying. Read full review

This gun is superb! If you're an MP40 enthusiast like me, but can't afford an original, this is the gun for you. The weight is life like, its sturdy, accurate, and wicked fast on full auto! As long as you shoot steel BBs through it, you shouldn't have any problems with the clip jamming. The only small beef I have with it is the stock, it folds out straight with gun which makes it hard to aim down the sights. It should be at a slight downward angle when it locks. But this thing is so much fun to shoot at the hip and by instinct that I dont even use it anyway, but it does look really cool. If you're looking into getting a BB gun for plinking, definitely keep this on your list, I'm very impressed with Umarex's delivery of this gun, they absolutely hit it out of the park. 5 star, A+, 100% recommended. So much fun! Read full review

You gotta use steel BBs . I had some high end premium quality copper coated BBs and tried them .....nope 2 shots jam , clear 1 shot , clear. It still went through the cycle like it was firing but just using up CO2. It is solidly built and HEAVY. So if you have spaghetti arms dont think your gonna be swinging this around with one arm. Im a big guy and can handle it, but Im 55 now and feel the arthritis in the wrist because this is not a plastic toy. You go through BBs fast and spare mags are not cheap because they are the heart of this MP 40. It holds the ammo and both CO2 cylinders. It cycles nice and fast so stitching a Starling when taking off works. Nice on them tiny rotten red Squirrels that twitch around ...just point and spray and turn them into Crow food.

After getting this MP, that was sent very quickly I might add, I loaded it up and stuck a couple of CO2 cartridges in and took it out side. I aimed it, pulled the trigger, but it fired only one BB. I mean it acted like it was still firing, but it was only air. I pulled out the clip and saw that the BBs were not advancing up the track of the clip. I fiddled with it and got them to move, only to have it jam again. I would do this at least a dozen times. I was so disappointed. I did not want to send this heavy thing back to the sender. I tried spraying some WD40 in the track, but that didn't work. How could this thing that everyone raves about, not fire two consecutive rounds? What the heck was wrong? It has to be the BBs. So I looked and looked and then I find an old box of Daisy Brand BBs I had for decades. I put them in, and "Ta-Da" it worked perfectly. Looking at the other BBs I was using, I noticed they were all scratched and dented, yet they were brand new. This thing needs to use high quality BBs in it to work right. -But once you do- "WOW" -This thing is a blast- "BUY IT"Read full review
