I don't like messing with dental floss and then disposing of the string. This machine takes care of that and you can just fill it with water to air floss as much as you want. Product is not anything like I was expecting
This review is for the actual product and not of the individual that it was purchased form. I currently have an airfloss that's about 5 to 6 years old. It does still operate but the battery will only last a day or so if I do not leave it on the charger. I decided to purchase this as an upgrade considering it states that its an ultra/ Pro and has three bursts vs the one thst I currently have. When using the old airfloss I feel the jet between my teeth as it removes particles and plak from between my teeth. With the 'NEW' unit, it does not have any power at all. I fear if I was to continue to use it regularly that instead of maintaining my gum health it would not do anything. Basically a placebo. Seems very ineffective.
A couple years ago I started using a Waterpik flosser and actually love the thing, it has become a daily ritual that I never could make happen with standard floss. I ran across mention of this air floss by Sonicare. Being a dedicated Sonicare toothbrush user, I thought I'd give this a try. Price was right. There is no comparison between the Waterpik and this thing. I have no hard evidence, but it feels totally ineffectual. And it is actually messier than the Waterpik. Fine droplets of spray on the mirror, whereas the Waterpik doesn't. Some of this may be due to experience with the one and very little with the other. Great Price!
My hygienist had been recommending this flosser for the past couple of years, but they sold it for $89.99 which was too high for me! I found the exact same product, new, on ebay for about $30. It works well, and has gotten my 12 yr old grandson to like brushing and flossing his teeth!! More Powerful Than Newer Version
I've had the opportunity to use both the older generation of Sonicare's Airfloss (this product) and the newer version, and I am happy to be going back to this one. I have seen similar lifetimes from both products (a few years each) which ended with a failed motor from the older product and a dead battery from the newer. In terms of performance, the older one is definitely the way to go. It has much more power in every spray which not only does a better job of removing food, but also fights gingivitis better. You have to push the button multiple times if you want more than one spray (the new one can do up to three per button press), but the extra power more than makes up for it in my opinion.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
