Works great, easy to set up with the app. Only issue is they state it should be about 6 feet away from any metal. So if you include the garage door rails, the metal bar from the garage door opener to the garage door wall it is near impossible to install 6 feet away from any metal. I have a second garage door so finding a spot in between all the rails is impossible. Note - this is "suggested" to reduce interference and is not "mandatory". Also the main hub unit should be close to both door sensors else you may not get a strong signal. I had to move mine from the original location because it was too far away from the 2nd door sensor.

This myQ door sensor works with what I believe is the previous generation of garage door hubs. The unit works fine with my existing hub (myQ-G0301). The price as good relative to other sources, but it cost almost as much as the original hub and sensor set I purchased several years ago. I was able to install up the unit and pair it with the existing hub very quickly. Unfortuneately the 25-year-old garage door opener it is paired with has problems and will need to be replaced.

Install is easy, follow the instructions in the app, not the written instructions. The ability to set a schedule to close the garage door made MyQ worth the $$, within a week of install it had already saved me from leaving my garage doors open all night.

The product works as advertised and allows me to open my garage door with my phone. Note that you get the hub and one sensor, which works on one door. If you need to open two garage doors you'll have to buy another sensor. Setting it up was not as easy as hoped as the hub refused to connect to my network from my garage despite having a strong enough signal. I eventually had to call customer support and have them walk me through some troubleshooting steps, but after that it did work. Nice to have the option to sue the phone. Also, it requires a 2.4 GHz network to connect to the internet, but once it connected I can have my phone on our 5 GHz network (router does both) and I can still open the doors.

This is a simple to install unit that seems to work well. The app drives the installation as well as the configuration and operation of each device you install. I bought two, one for me and one for a friend. Unfortunately, the friend had the unit stop responding for some reason. It turns out the lights blinking on it told me (based upon the colors) that it wasn't communicating with the WiFi any longer. A power cycle fixed it, but it would have been nice if it re-sync'd up on it's own. Not sure if they had a power outage or what. It's only been a few weeks, but we are pleased with the ability to know when the garage is up or down, able to program in the delays for notifications, able to control the up or down status of the door itself from anywhere. Research carefully other reviews on this unit to decide if it's for you. But so far so good. My friend is thrilled that she can know when her son forgets to put the garage door down and is able to close it remotely from work or wherever. Peace of mind and increased safety is worth the price. Getting a known working used set is an option. Just make sure it is a newer model, if possible.Read full review
