I like the watch but it's a "bugger" to set the date and perpetual calendar. I even went to the Seiko website to obtain a users manual but that too was pretty confusing. I guess I will be able to figure this thing out one of these days.

Bought this for my husband for Father's Day and reallywas excited about the purchase until my husband needed a link taken out of the band. Took watch to watch repair store and they told us they couldn't take out a link from the band due to the band on watch has the wrong pins in it. they are not the Seiko pins. so now I have a watch that my husband can not wear, VERY DISAPPOINTED!

I have been looking for a solar-powered (no battery changes, never have to open the case), alarm (I often want to know when, say, ten minutes has passed for some project to finish) chronograph with longer than one hour timing (for grilling). This watch has all of those. The perpetual calendar is a nice additional benefit. And the luminescent hands can be read easily in the dark. One minor drawback is that the band can be adjusted only by removing full links, which is a little too coarse. I found I could adapt a different clasp to this watch go get finer adjustments.

I have the white faced version of this and decided at this price to get the dark one. I like this one a bit more. Both are nice but the darker face just pops more. YouTube’d the setting instructions and it was so easy. Band was very easy to size with a thumbtack.

I have been buying Seiko watches since they were $20.00 or "Japanese Timex" when I was in Navy during Vietnam War. The only problem I have with this watch is my old eyes and the small print. Of course Seiko is doing a lot with a small space. It's a great watch. I have a small wrist and have to get virtually all watch bands sized; no different with this one. Great quality. As a by the way, I would NEVER use the word "awesome" to describe anything. It is so overused that the word has lost its true meaning.
