Very happy to rediscover my music collection.
So quarantine = being home a lot. One night, I was listening to a radio station stream on my old setup and a Cure song from "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me" came on. I grabbed the CD and put it in and flipped between the CD and the stream. I was really disappointed by the fact that the stream sounded so much better. Talking with my friend who is an audiophile, he said I should upgrade my equipment. He recommended a few brands but what stood out for me with Cambridge Audio was the silver medal (I'm tired of black A/V equipment) and the reviews of the CXN v2, so I decided to go with a complete Cambridge Audio setup. Absolutely love it. The AXC35 blows away the Onkyo I had when using its own internal DAC but I've set it so the AXC35 puts its sound through the CXN v2 (as some people have recommended).Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Excellent CD player that ALMOST matches the receiver
This is an excellent device. I bought the factory refurb version. It looked brand new except for a smudge on the front of the device that cleaned off easily. It sounds great. The onboard DAC chip performs admirably. I like that if I ever get a high dollar DAC I can circumvent the built in one. My one nitpick on this device is that the AXR100 that I own has smooth sides. A CD player that gives excellent performance. At a reasonable price
I purchased the AXC35 CD Player refurbished. The unit sounds very good and the build quality is excellent. The exterior is in perfect condition. Brilliant sound, simple controls
An excellent partner to my CA AXR100 receiver. Great onboard DA conversion; sounds equally great feeding digital signal to the companion receiver. Very transparent sound stage with crystalline highs, musical midrange and tight, authoritative bass. It’s all there. Cambridge Top Quality Audio Gear
For one Cambridge packed the CD player very well and it'd be a good idea for everyone to ship their electronics this way, like riding on air and unless ran over by a fork lift or something nothings going to happen to it. Of course set up was easy, it's a CD player so... The transport seems to work great as the tray comes out smooth and fast. The player reads the info on the disc very fast so you are onto playing your selection quickly. The sound of the player is amazing and better than the typical CD player in this price range and suits my needs for home stereo listening. I believe Cambridge did a very good job of engineering the AX line of entry level hi-fi audiophile products. Much better than the so-so average line of everyone else, top notch in this price range. Stunning performance for a pittance!
The AXC35 CD Player is simplicity and beauty personified! The player--thanks to the Wolfson Dac, perhaps--perfectly compliments my KEF LS50s. My old compact discs (which used to sound lackluster and dimensionless) now all sound amazing. No exageration: my music has never sounded better! Fantastic Buy on a Superb Audio Player.
I have had a Cambridge Azur CD player for many years. It is one of the finest CD players I have ever heard. When I saw this refurbished unit I decided to take a chance for my digital editing studio. It came beautifully packed and ha it not been indicated as refurbished I would not have been able to tell it from new. The remote showed minor signs of use but nothing resembling damage. The sound is superb and the player is fast. No bells and whistles, just simplicity. Zero delay on playing after a disc is inserted. Really Good CD Transport
