Hard to configure for iphone
I done all my technical set up by myself but this is hard to configure. The set up for email notification and online viewing is so complicate. I had Arlo Pro prior to this and it's piece of cake to set up. Arlo's issue is battery life and wireless. I don't understand why Lorex make it so complicate. It should be registered, type in email, download apps and ready to go. It's has been 2 weeks now. I watched the video and not helping much. Input 3 different emails: sender, receiver, host email etc. Couldn't sign-in on iphone apps. Always receive message "incorrect ID and Password". Chat online is not working. Excellent system, with a price.
This is by far one of the easiest systems to install and set up. I replaced my older outdated system with this one. I chose Lorex because of their stable and user friendly software. If you're looking for an entry level system with just a few cameras installed in a well lit areas, this system is probably not for you. For the ones who are serious and technology savvy, than this is for you. The initial camera and wiring installation was a breeze because I had existing holes and junction boxes drilled and installed. As soon as the cameras were hooked up to the DVR everything was insanely SIMPLE. Download the app just as the manual tells you to, connect your internet cable to the DVR, and you're watching your cameras in real time on your phone in less than 15 minutes. You might have to purchase a new monitor, I had an existing LCD computer monitor and it's just wouldn't connect to the DVR. I ended up using my old bedroom LED TV connected with the provided HDMI cord. You actually can see and read the license plates of cars parked on the camera from about 50-60 feet from the camera. The color night vision is quite amazing quality also. If you want a system that you're not going to have to worry about being obsolete in a few years than purchase this system.
