Have these on all three of my dual sports , in appropriate sizes of course. DR650, XT225, 1st Gen KLR650.
In the not-very-muddy California dirt, knobbier would be better, but they really do quite well. And as far as getting to the dirt on the pavement, straight up love them. Shinko 705 were clearly better on the pavement, but no comparison with a 244 on the dirt.
Particularly well suited to the 650s I think, knobbier on those would be too much of a compromise on pavement, where those bikes do so well.
Fronts can start wobbling at about 70 mph indicated on the KLR, but only sometimes, depends on load and pressure and the particular pavement. Fronts are only rated for something like 75 mph. In dirt, these tires really help with the KLR front end stability.
Note that pressure is critical on the dirt, KLR in particular for instance gets so much better when you air down. They all do!
