Four months later, this album's cover of Neil Diamond's Top 25, 1967 gem "Kentucky Woman," went Top 40 for Deep Purple. Also like Vanilla Fudge, the group's own originals were creative, thought-provoking, but not nearly as interesting as their take on cover tunes.

Notes2015 EU limited edition 7-track MONO vinyl LP, NO LONGER WHITE VINYL released for Record Store Day 2015, gatefold cover. On PARLOPHONE label. The super rare, and possibly previously unreleased (we can't be 100% sure) mono mix of Deep Purple Mark 1's second LP. Released on Warner Brothers Records in North America and Japan and on Harvest Records in the rest of the world. This record will be cut from the high resolution transfer of the original analogue master tape that has been used in the Hard Road Mark 1 CD box set. NO LONGER WHiTE VINYL! That was 2015 now this is NO LONGER WHITE VINYL
I give this classic 60's Deep Purple 2nd album 5 stars, however this is not the White colored vinyl pressing that is listed being sold. This is the black vinyl version. Had to return.
My favorite Deep Purple LP, cover suitable for framing, and the tunes are outstanding! Fun researching the Taliesyn legend and listening how the songs coincide with the legend. Check it out:
