She's written songs for Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert and most recently she co-wrote the song "Undermine" that appeared in the second episode of the ABC drama, Nashville. Kacey wrote or co-wrote every track on her debut album, Same Trailer Different Park, which was co-produced by Kacey, Shane McAnally and Luke Laird. Great CD by Kacey Musgraves
Kacey writes from a perspective that would seem to be from someone with lots more years under her belt and the songs are just terrific! You don't have to have had the pleasure of living in a trailer park to "get " them. When I heard the lyric, "..when the straight and narrow gets a little too straight, roll up a joint..or don't..just follow your arrow wherever it points.." Can you imagine what the brass at the Grand Ole Opry thought when she sang that one in Nashville? Anyway, since I haven't bought a CD in almost 20 years, I bought it on EBay for less than I would have paid anywhere else and it was at the house in a few days..EBay is the only way we buy! Take care.

SIgn of things to come
Nice mix up upbeat and subtle songs. Classic "Merry Go Round" was the first song I heard from this CD about 5 years ago. Purchased Golden Hour, loved it, decided to purchase her earlier work. Good decision, highly recommend.

I first became aware of Kacey on Austin City Limits. She is a beautiful Lady, with a beautiful voice, but what completes the package are the amazing lyrics which embody all that is good in the human experience. Do yourself a favor and buy this album, I promise you won't regret it! I have turned all of my friends on to it, and they all love it, even the ones that aren't normally into country.
