For the money, I can't believe what a great camera this is. Sony is really pushing the envelope with features and quality. I was tentative about the electric viewfinder, but it is awesome. It has a larger viewfinder so it's actually easier to see what you're doing, plus seeing what the actual exposure will look like, and the manual focus assist, made me a true believer in evf. I was a tentative canon owner, but am now a strong Sony fanboy. Plus, with the amount of cheap Minolta a mount lenses on the market, you have access to a lot of quality glass for cheap. I currently am running the a65 for digital and a Minolta 7000 for film, and it's great to be able to just switch the lenses between cameras!

This particular camera will only take b&w pics, not sure what's wrong. Nothing wrong in settings. Have another 65 and like it

My favorite camera! I have been taking pictures over 40 years as a serious hobbyist, taken a few classes and on occasion produced beautiful pictures, much like many photo fan. Like most I always wanted the best my budget could afford, from 35mm, medium format film cameras to the digital Nikon and Canon etc. Time has a way of moving away from the "cool" to the ease and performance that we have become accustom to. Many say age but for now time will work. I tried this Sony Alpha and the ease and quality of the pictures have impressed me like none of the other long list of cameras I have used in the past. It's fun and easy to use the Manual instead of Program and the fully Auto for those shots that don't allow the time to do all the setting, auto focus is fast and right on and exposure is great. All of the still photography is great But the new thing for me is video and wow, this camera is easy and great fun to use. Focusing moving objects was difficult in the past but not now, it's just fun. I won't get into the technical things, I just wanted to say how much I enjoy this beauty.Read full review

This is a little higher featured camera than I've been useing and some things are a little different than I am use to and I am still learning to opperate. I don't use it much but it takes good pictures. The reason I got it is that I have a lot of minolta lenses and sony seems to be getting away from this lens so now I have another body for my lenses. I like EVF,flip lcd,video,24mp,is and build in lens motor. I used minolta 35mm film camera and really liked it , then came digital and a nikon d40 , a very good camera and I wasn't seeing the minolta name . I went on e-bay to see if there was a market for minolta and learned that sony had taken it over and these lenes would work on sony alpha so I tried an a35 and ended up getting more minolta lenses . I could hand hold with a 300 mm lens , under $100.00 on e-bay . Nikon lens on e-bay wilh motor and is about $300.00Read full review
I've absolutely fallen in love with this camera!!! The pictures have turned out great and I love all of the features on this particular model. I upgraded from a Sony A230 (which I loved too, but it was time to upgrade) & couldn't be happier. I love the Sony line of DSLR's. The price can't be beat and these camera's are super user friendly. An added plus is that you can use Minolta lenses as well as Sony, so the cost of lenses don't bite as bad. I would highly recommend this camera.
Very pleased with the price and the function of the camera....used it a number of times...well done.

I’ve owned and still own Canon and Panasonic DSLR and mirrorless cameras respectively, but none compare to the A65. Sony hit it out of the park. The focus is accurate and fast. Photos are sharp and well exposed. My favorite part, this Sony can use Minolta glass, the A mount lenses. Minolta was always known for the colors produced by their glass and you can get some wonderful lenses for pennies.

I like the way it handles, the photos are really sharp, the stationary mirror makes it quiet and best of all I can use my minolta lenses if I want.

Upgraded from Sony a300. Had lenses and shoe mount flashes so bought body only. a65 much faster in all respects. Also needed the GPS for tagging locations of shots. What I like most about it that I seldom shoot RAW. With a300 shot much more RAW to get better quality. With a65, usually just shoot JPG. Also really like the focus peaking for manual focus. Biggest downside is that it has so many features that it takes a while to get it set up the way you want it.
