MBRP makes great exhausts for far less than the competition. I have had one of their full exhausts on my truck for years. This X3 Cat delete pipe did not disappoint. Very well made. You will have to reuse the gaskets off of either end of the oem pipe. Remove the muffler completely. The four springs are not bad. YouTube videos make them look more difficult than they are. I used a large cotter pin removal tool by Craftsman. I large pick would’ve also worked. Small pick or vice grips may have a tougher time working. Heat shields removed easily. O2 sensor unplugged easily. Was as tight an any automotive O2 sensor. Pretty snug with no anti seize. I had to put penetrating oil around the v band clamp. It’s probably the hardest part. Once it starts opening it’s fine. Install was simple. Have a buddy help. Don’t tighten anything until you have the muffler mounted and springs re installed. The tighten down the v-band on the turbo. When re installing the muffler flip the bolts around so the 4 nuts are on the outside. This makes it easier to pull it off and later if needed. Any smoke you see will be the oil you sprayed on the v-band clamp and oil from MBRP. This is normal and will stop smoking after a short ride. With this and an EVO V-Flow intake on the 120hp x3 max I noticed improved turbo spool up. Slightly louder but barely noticeable. I’m very happy with it. Felt half the weight of stock cat pipe. Don’t waste money on the same thing sold by others. The only difference would be EVO Or Treal with theirs that have a resonator where the cat was. For a basic Cat delete the fit and finish on this is awesome!
