I was looking for this book everywhere in my city but they were out of stock! First partial exams came in and I still couldn't find this book anywhere. I would pay any price to get it, so I logged in to Ebay and noticed that this book was HALF PRICE than the ones sold at my city! I bought it inmediatly and received it within a couple days. The book is awesome, brand new. It does not have a hard cover but... who cares! I am now ready for revenge on the second partial exam... =)

I bought it because I needed the book for class. It is a good book for learning Mechanical Engineering Design. My only dislike is how broad the topics are, but that is to no fault of the book. That is just the nature of Mechanical Engineering.
This book is ok, its derivations however are very weak. As a review book it would be good, but don't expect much new understanding. It is difficult to follow many of the example problems as they take every oppertunity to employ little tricks that the book never covers.
This book covers the basics of mechanical design: - Design Process - Engineering mechanics and material - Failure prevention (static and variable loading) - Study of springs, bearings, gears,cluctches, brakes, shafts and axles. But the most important thing about this book is that trully encourage the student to link design to analysis.
