The green Commando Raider XL.3337 combines all the details for which Luminox is famous – tough, luminous, extremely water resistant, highly legible – with a sand-coloured dial, military style numbers and military time. The Raider adds a CARBONOX uni-directional countdown bezel with an integrated compass rose, in a light and extremely durable 46 mm CARBONOX case.
The watch is standard for Luminox with respect to it's size and durability/toughness. The gmt hand works but lags just a small amount. The lume is in my opinion unsatisfactory for a company that specializes in luminosity of dial. It has an inexpensive quartz movement. The watch is not in my opinion worth the nearly 600.00 Luminox and other sellers are asking. Perhaps it's worth buying at 200.00 to 250.00. it is worth noting that my Luminox Raider did not come with any instruction manual, nor was the Luminox box it came in covered in anything that had to be unwrapped. I have an idea of what that might mean. Caveat emptor.
This is only the second Luminox watch that I own. I also recently purchased a Luminox Atacama Adventurer XL.1768 with a steel case, which I love as well. I can say that the carbon case on the XL. 3337 is much lighter. The one complaint that I have on this one is that, for some reason, the time adjustment feels really sloppy for a quartz watch at this price point. Also, a little disappointed that the tritium tubes are only at the 12,3,6 & 9 indices. Still, a very nice and BA looking watch. Will wear it with pride. P.S. Be careful when making the adjustments on the silicone band. If you cut too short, your screwed. Trust me, I found out the hard way. Ended up costing me an extra $70 to replace with another OEM band.
