I have mixed feelings about this device. When used underneath hole cutting on walls, it works pretty well. I've discovered that one needs to be sure before turning off the vacuum and removing the device from a wall that there is not still dust in the device. The vacuum doesn't always clear all of the dust, especially dust that ends up near the ends of the catching "tray". Flicking the dust toward the vacuum port with a finger usually is enough to clear the dust. Some of my difficulty with the device is due to the way my Festool vacuum works. When set to manual, the vacuum doesn't supply power to the outlet into which the cutting tool plugs. That means that I can't turn on the vacuum manually to put this device onto a wall and then pick up my hole cutter and use it unless I plug the hole cutter into another power source. That's not the fault of this device, but it is something that any Festool user will have to confront. The alternative is to set the vacuum to auto, turn on the hole cutter to start the vacuum and manage the running tool while putting the dust catcher on the wall. This can verge on dangerous depending on the hole cutting tool and the particular situation. Lastly, while I said that this device is good value, I'd say it's on the high end in terms of price. The $50 MSRP is rather high it seems to me. Your mileage may vary.Read full review
