The Wayne Pool Cover Pump
I purchased this pool cover pump for my new pool. I didn't think I would have to use it so soon but we had a gully-washer three days after I received it. It was easy to position with the included rope. I just hooked up a garden hose and plugged it in. It worked flawlessly. The automatic switch performed without any problems. The blue platform acts as a strainer and keeps the pump from sucking up the pool cover. This seems to be a well engineered product. NEW WAYNE WAPC250 SWIMMING POOL COVER PUMP 3000GPH 1/4HP AUTO ON / OFF I used this pump to pump off my winter pool cover very large pool l cleaned the cover while still on the pool as best l could there was still a lot of small leafs and deb-re that l couldn't get off so l set the pump in on the cover l had to clear deb-re away from the base of the pump a few time s it pumped well if your looking at this type of application Keep in mind that if leafs and such things get in the senser easily cleaned area it wont shut off and you wiil have to clean it out if this is done then it will do its job fine if your looking at basically fairly clear water then it would probably run and shut off and turn back on automatically as designed this is the first time l have used it so l cant tell you long term outlook but l was happy with its performanceVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works great on covers with NO DIRT
It is well built and works great for the price, albeit there is one fatal flaw. Keep your instructions as troubleshooting will advise you to clean out the "primer hole" when the pump starts going on ,off,on,off every couple of seconds. This is accomplished buy removing the 4 screws that hold the bottom strainer on, then pry off the "impeller plate" and locate the tiny 1/8" hole nearly under the impaler and clean it out. I guess the engineer designed it for indoor pool covers where there would be no dirt to clog this nuisance hole. FYI assemble bottom filter plate so that blocked filter holes are toward the water level sensor,Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Absolutely satisfied. Highly recommended. Wire and retrevial cord are more than adequate for a 36X 18 ft inground pool. Freeze protection circuit is very impressive for this pump.
