Cool lightweight watch with many great features but look for it on sale
Cool watch, looks great, lots of functions although learning to use them takes a little time. Mine has the leather strap (base model) -- with it had the titanium bracelet but more on that later. The hands and LCD display are easy to read in daylight and room light, and the luminosity is sufficient to easily tell the time in the dark, but without glasses I can't read the LCD display in the dark even when backlit. The altimeter, chronometer, and compass all seem to work fine. I love the solar recharge feature. The watch is large and bulky compared with other titanium chronographs, particularly the Seiko I also own, but it is not heavy and doesn't really get in the way. The control buttons are beveled so they don't keep getting hung up on stuff like other chronometers. I'm not at all a fan of the leather band. It is well made, and attaches with a clasp so that you don't have to fumble with a buckle, but it is still very clumsy to put on. Both sides of the clasp engage independently and most of the time when I am attaching one side the other comes loose, so it's back and forth until I get it attached, then the fight to get the short end of the strap through the second leather loop which always migrates to the far limit of the strap. However I am not yet ready to pony up $150 or more for the titanium band.
I got this watch on an eBay sale for under $400. At that price, it's worth it. Cool as the watch is, I would not have been happy if I'd paid $500 or more, unless it came with the titanium band.
