Not hard to install. The struts push directly onto studs after the studs are put in place. Don’t mess with metal piece on strut where they snap on the stud as I did. Best thing I've purchased for my 2020' Tacoma. They are very easy to assemble, only takes about 15 mins. No holes to drill or rivits to install. The brackets fit in the esisting factry holes. Shame on Toyota for not install them from the factory so you don't have to lift that very heavy hood, then prop it with a dog leg lever. Definate improvement over the stock hood prop!!
These hood struts were easy to install and required no drilling or modifications (other than replacing a bolt with a new supplied bolt included in the package). So far they are working great and actually raise the hood by several inches over the stock hood propping devise. Hopefully, these struts will work for many years before needing replacement. Time will tell. It is so nice to have the hood go up by itself though...a definate improvement over Toyota Tacoma's stock hood proping device which is antiquated.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Easy fix that all Taco`s need.
Great product, super easy 10 minute install, no marking out, no drilling holes in the hood or body unlike some other brands, lifts the hood way higher than the hood prop. The product is great it does everything it says. Easy to install and very quick to doas advtised only one thing is needs better instructions as ttheir is no mention on witch strut or bracket goes on witch side of vecal and from weather you are looking at the hood fom the front or back from drivers side. It does say left and right on the hood .Tip the pins in the engine bay point inwards wereas the pins on the hood point outwards. There are great YouTube videos out their and shows you exactly how to do it. definently would recommend thes struts for the 2016 Toyota Tacoma.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
