I am a wheelchair-bound amputee who has recently gotten into kayaking, but after purchasing a traditional sit-on kayak to go out with friends I realized I would never be able to go kayaking solo-style, due to that yak's 12' length and weight of around 85 pounds. So, with no other options for solo-day trips and wanting to be more active, I decided to buy a second inflatable kayak that I could take out on my own, without any assistance. After much research, I decided the Intex Excursion Pro was the perfect 'yak in my price range and ended up purchasing an open box from Ebay/Spreetail. While I understood my buy was of an open box return and did not expect the kayak to be perfect, I was disappointed to find that the bottom/floor inflation section along with one of the two inflatable seats would not hold air for more than an hour. I am sure it is going to be an easy fix and since everything else was in perfect, new/unused condition, so I won't be trying to exchange it; but I still have not gotten a chance to truly enjoy that kayak, until I can make the needed repairs.Read full review

Unfortunately one of the sides doesn't hold air. Box indicates that it should have a patch kit but it did not come with one. I have ordered a patch kit and hopefully I can find and repair the leak. If it holds air I am guessing it would work well. Didn't look like it had much use so wouldn't expect it to leak so maybe something with the manufacturing/folds etc

Very easy to pump and get ready for the water. Very well made of super tough Avon style rubber material. Stable, not tippy. Easily seats two (and a third light weight animal like a dog or camping packs). Holds air for long periods, pump it up - it stays up. Our one issue was working out that the pump values have a proprietary internal “on/off” or air flow “in/out” setting. This is not well explained in the instructions. Once we figured it out the kayak was easily inflated and the air valve snapped shut on disconnecting the pump. By the way, the air valves are proprietary and therefore only fit Intek pump equipment. The hand pump is fairly easy to work so it’s not a big deal. Yes, I recommend it.

After many reviews of inflatable kayaks, purchased Intex Excursion Pro online. Have used it one day with multiple family combinations (including a kid in the middle) and it performed pretty well. Tracked well, easy turns, very stable. Not sure I like the inflatable seats - the backs don't provide good support so may look at options. Otherwise, this ws a good but for our RV camping trips and not having to deal with hard body kayaks.

Kayak is comfortable, light and easy to inflate. I have used it with my wife over the inland waters. Sitting is comfortable and there is enough room for legs.Moves on water O.K although harder than rigid one. Attached pressure gauge prevents pumping it up too hard. It feels rather soft if the pressure is kept on green range.
