Good result after getting it installed, however instructions are overly simplistic. If your door has recessed area on each end on the lengthwise dimension you will need to cut the panels in half in order to get a good fit, and slide them into place individually, as there is no way to compress the panels lengthwise. The result is still good as the seam in the middle is hardly noticeable and does not affect insulating capability. Once I used this method, the install was very simple; trying to do it with an intact panel was very frustrating.

The panels do a very good job insulating the garage door but the installation went nothing like the extremely vague installation instructions show. I had to cut the panels length and width to fit snugly in the door panels and then secure them with white Gorilla glue tape. Took a long time to trim the panels accurately. Even with the extra installation time and headaches I would still recommend this product as it does a good job insulating the door once installed

Panels were correct width for my door sections but had to be cut to length. The material is easy to cut but you have to cut inlets to accommodate the screws that stick out where the panel tucks into a vertical support, otherwise you are not able to push the panels up to the end of the section. On the right hand sections of my door, there were vertical supports on both sides that the panel had to be tucked into. That required cutting the panel in two and butting the ends together in the middle of the section (cover the joint with white tape). Once I had figured out these peculiarities, everything went together quickly and without much effort. The door raises and lowers more smoothly and quietly with the insulation in place than it did without insulation. Don't yet know how it acts as an insulator. I may have to add an aluminum reflective sheet on the inside for summer heat.Read full review

We live in West Texas, and have three garage bays that face directly east in the morning. (Thank God they don't face west...) These panels are not going to keep your garage "living room comfortable", but they do dramatically reduce the heat transfer into the garage. I've taken readings the last couple mornings with a laser thermometer gun. (Installed the panels over the weekend.) Unfortunately, i did not take readings inside the garage last week, prior to installing the panels. The ambient outside temperature at 1130a CST the last two days was 95 degrees. The back face of the panels ('inside" the garage) read 102 degrees. The exposed interior edge of the metal panels read 122 degrees. The exterior face of the garage door panels (full sun) read a stunning 161 degrees (see the second photo.) The hood of my truck (roughly 18" behind the garage door) read 93 degrees. The garage is perceptibly cooler after the panels were installed. It's averaging 93-95 degrees as I take readings around the garage. Again, I did not take internal readings last week, but I would estimate the garage to easily be 20-25 degrees cooler. It is very apparent the panels reduce the heat transfer.Read full review

The panels were easy to cut to size with a utility knife. Just cut through as far as the blade will go from both sides and then the panel will break off cleanly. I only had to cut to the correct length for my door, the height was fine without cutting. These not only insulate but the door is quieter when opening and closing too. Also educes heat transfer from direct sun.
