All I wanted to do was to add GPS ability to my new iPod. This unit did that effortlessly right from the start. The only thing I can think of to improve it would to come up with a better way to connect the power cable the entire time it is in use. I intend to use it for marine navigation and anticipate trips lasting much longer than the GPS’s built in battery can last. I may need to get creative with this during long trips.

The unit would not power up or charge. I spent over 6 hours attempting to get it to work. I watched YouTube videos, googled the fault, downloaded the Dual XGPS150 app and had a friend with a masters degree from UoA waste an hour on it. We came to the conclusion that the battery was dead and the unit required a battery replacement to get it operational. To open it up and replace the battery would void the warranty. So I returned it. I purchased a Garmin GLO directly from Garmin for $99, it arrived in 5 days. The battery pack snaps in and after a quick charge it paired with both my iPad and iPhone and ForeFlight found it without me having to tell it anything. Garmin has the best antenna technology in the GPS industry and I am glad the Dual XGPS 150 was DOA.
