SynopsisA Guide to Apply a Model-based Systems Engineering Approach with SysML to Specify and Architect Systems. This book provides a straightforward guide to develop an architecture model of aSmall Satellite using the Systems Modeling Language (SysML(r)). SysML is a general-purpose modeling language used to specify and architect systems. Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is intended to produce an integratedsystem model using SysML which reflects multiple views of the system to specify theinteraction and interconnection of its components, and their functions, states, interfaces, and performance and physical characteristics. The system model canenhance quality, reuse, and shared understanding of the system. This book can be used by instructors and students to learn how to apply MBSE with SysML, as wellas practitioners of MBSE and organizations as a reference approach for their application., A Guide to Apply a Model-based Systems Engineering Approach with SysML to Specify and Architect Systems. • cradle to grave snapshot of a project

When engineers start projects, they very often do not ensure the interconnection between the pieces, e.g. how to meaningfully connect requirements to an assembly. This book walks you thru a simplified project from beginning to end. This is important, as it is necessary to know where you are going at the start. Good to look at end products, and know from the beginning what the end goal is. One simple example, I was working on a design where a separate team was going to do t he user interface about 6 months into the project.. No problem, I simply collated a list of the required interfaces, along with what they connected to, including descriptions from the model, and generated a nice glossary of the interfaces.
