Great alternative to Sonos and if you’ve bought into google home ecosystem - this is their high end speaker. Cool feature - there is Aux input so you can hook up a record player - but then that can stream to all google speakers /chromecast products. So basically can play vinyl on whole home audio setup via google home app.

Pros- decent sound quality - could be better though. Cons - biggest con for me is that Google designed these speakers to use only half the speakers and amplifiers when you pair two speakers in stereo mode - a BIG fail in my opinion - I bought two speakers to have the ability to fill the room with quality sound at a higher volume. More speakers = more air moved = more volume without losing clarity, and more amplifiers = louder volume without distortion. What good reason would Google have to cancel two speakers and their amplifiers when you place the unit on it's end - whether you listen to it on it's end or flat all the speakers should work!

This is a great product at a great price, although it would have been nice that the description stated this was a Canadian version and not American. The only reason I state is because upon setup, it mentioned this and that it may not be compatible with some WiFi networks and some features not be accessible. I don't think I've faced any issues, although Roku doesn't integrate properly, but otherwise it's a great speaker and a great value.

The Google home max is a truly premium product. The sound quality is really nice, not quite as refined as the Sonos One but it's still impressive. The sound fills a large room easily and there's no distortion at high volume. The smart functionality works as it should, this is why I chose this over the Sonos One, as the smart assistant feature on that speaker is terrible - no problems with this one though. Such a shame that it's been discontinued, this is a great product and miles ahead of their other speakers

Bought used but i dont have to break in the speakers. They sound great indoors and outdoors. Love the bluetooth feature to pair a smartphone.
