This is a very nice lens but it could have been designed better. The button for the ring light is very difficult - almost impossible for me - to find by feel. It should have been raised a little. And forget the information (not from Canon) that you can put a 27mm filter on it. A 27mm is too small. And this is not "heavy duty" at all, but that was to be expected. Also, too bad it isn't an EF so it could be used on a full frame camera. There is no equivalent macro for a full frame - not without paying double or more, and that's a shame. But this lens does take nice closeups. Be prepared however to learn how to focus manually, and at f/32, because when you get real close the autofocus is going to be fooled. This means using a tripod or some other device to keep the camera rock steady. Again, that is to be expected. It's the only way to get real sharp details in just about any true macro.Read full review

I’ve only played with it for a few minutes but so far I’m very impressed! I thought I would like auto focus because it seems easier but think I like manual focus the best. Everything was included and in the box and like brand new so I am very happy with the price I got considering it said used. Love the light ring as well! I have a Canon 80D - well built, nice lens for the price! do not hesitate to purchase this!

I have been able to used this lens for a little while now and I am impressed with it. It takes good quality macro photos but also works as a standard 35 mm walking around lens. Overall I am very please and happy with this little lens.

For this type of lens matching with small subject matter shots, it works great.

Just what I expected and wanted. This should get me started in macro-photography. Eventually, I will move up to the superb, MP-E 65mm macro.
