During an expedition in the Amazon in 1906, British explorer Percy Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam) grows obsessed with finding a lost city that could be the key to understanding the origins of human civilization. Over the next two decades, he returns to the Amazon multiple times in the hope of unearthing its location. Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Sienna Miller, and Angus MacFadyen co-star in this adaptation of David Grann's 2009 nonfiction novel, which was directed by James Gray (THE IMMIGRANT, WE OWN THE NIGHT).

Lost City Of Z: WOW! Learning can be fun! Great Movie! Finely acted to the smallest part!
Awesome movie!!! This true to life, historical account of one of the great explorers is very engaging from start to finish. The roles could not have been filled by better choices of actors. I will not dwell too much on the story to prevent spoiling it for the viewer. It gets at least two thumbs up from me. Get it, watch it, enjoy it!!!

The true epic
This movie is excellent. A true epic in a time when that word has lost its meaning by overuse. Charlie Hunnam's performance as Percy Fawcett was multi-faceted. You could see why Fawcett was the archetype for Indiana Jones and every adventure character thereafter. But the man was real. He actually did these things. Hunnam captured the nuance, wiles, hope, despondency, and perseverance like few working actors could. Sienna Miller was his match in every aspect. Nina Fawcett, Percy's wife, was ahead of her time. She was a precursor to the issue of equality that still plagues our society today. Robert Pattinson was unrecognizable as the reticent but willing sidekick of Fawcett. He's never done anything better. James Gray wasted no frame directing this film. The entire thing is essential.

There are numerous "lost cities" out there in nonfiction, but none with the true title "Z"--spellbinding.
This is a top-notch adventure movie--which got me to read the novel which is equally good.
