I got this book to review dielectric theory, because it was a reference in a recent technical article. I found the book well written and having a nicely comprehensive scope, from the theory of crystals and electron band structure, to MOS and bipolar transistors, zener diodes, heterostructure lasers. It even contains photos of electronics industry pioneers like Jack Kilby at T.I., the young Andy Grove, Robert Noyce, and Gordon Moore at Intel, Morton Panish at Bell Labs. The explanations are clear, good diagrams, and valuable worked problems. I think this is a good text and reference.
