This TOW READY 80307 trailer hitch extension is tow rated. There are others that look exactly like this for sale that are NOT tow rated meaning that you can not pull weight with it over the road! Also when you add this extension you lower the capacity of your towing load & tongue weight! Always read the specs . Be safe ! Maximum trailer weight is the LOWEST of the following: - 50% of the towing capacity shown on the rating sticker of your trailer hitch. - Vehicle towing capacity per your owner's manual. - 3,500 lbs. Maximum tongue weight is the LOWEST of the following: - 50% of the tongue weight shown on the rating sticker of your trailer hitch. - 300 lbs.
