It might be refurbished but acts and looks like new. You will need a good HDMI cable to get the most fantastic image. It has cast features that rival all the big names. I could not be happier for the price versus value and features. The UHD conversion of HD video is good and original 4k looks fantastic as it should.. Easy out of the box set up, controller is fine,, overall very pleased with my purchase We have DirecTV and I had noticed they offered 3 channels of 4kEHD. So after Christmas I called and ordered the 4k receiver you have to add. After it was installed I was required to call and activate it.... at first no luck but the person on the phone uploaded a piece of software to the receiver and it started working. The Visio also needed updating for a HDR patch and everything was set. It worked but I was not impressed, so I explored the Visio set up and discovered a setting it had, HD color space turned on. This setting limited the unit to a 1080P limit. Once turned off the TV 4k worked . Now every channel gets its video converted to 4K by the Visio and the 4K DirecTV receiver displays it. Fantastic picture on every channel and the 4K channel available looks exceptional. The tv itself is a great value buy! The description is off though. Didn’t get batteries with remote like it said. Had to waste a trip to the store to get those. The shipping at the time said guaranteed 3 days (now it just says free shipping) it took 7 days. Little things, but very frustrating when the description says one thing, and that isn’t what you get. Again, the tv is great. Was packaged great! Just don’t expect all that you see in the notes....

I knew going into the purchase that it was a refurbished item in saying that what I expected from the description and what I received was a little disappointing but not to as extreme. The TV works great it has a wonderful picture and I'm thrilled with that as this is my first 4k UHD TV. It was very easy to set up and had simple directions for an individual who has next to no tech sense I was able to get it running quickly and even download the app so I could use my phone as a remote which the app is super easy too. All that being said I expected some scratches and whatnot as the description was very clear to state what to expect, what I did not expect to see was the big crack in the plastic housing. My husband was a little weary about it at first and insisted it get set up and tested immediately before we tried to hang it. I'm not sure if it was cracked before it was shipped or if it happened after it got shipped but even at the price I paid I would not have knowingly ordered it with a crack I would have looked at a different option instead, otherwise I would give this item 5 stars.Read full review

I made sure I had the HDMI cable version 2 . High content TV's need a HDMI V2 cable or they drop out or get funky pixel syndrome. Especially 4K. That being said This is an excellent TV. It does not have its own Browser but who needs it anyway. They kept that in mind when they produced this type. Keeps the cost down without picture quality compromise. The Smart cast works great and it has all the apps built in. Ready for the future if it ever gets here #4K.

Great buy. Was a bit hesittant at first being that it was reburf but I found this sucker on FatKidDeals and gave it a go (got a free google home with purchase) and so happy with my purchase. Works flawlessly just no HDR. Not sure who said it wasn't "smart" it is def "smart" as all the apps and such are on the TV and accessible but tbh if you're buying a 4k television its safe to assume you're tech savvy so you'd have access to a smart phone or assistant to take full advantage of the features.
