I needed to upgrade my old iPhone. I liked the looks of the Kyocera, so I researched it. Military touch, east to use but, the battery does not last a super long time. Switching from Apple to Android is interesting, but easy enough.

ive had this type of phone for about 3 years with no major issues and have enjoyed having them because theyre durable and can be used in water etc.. within two weeks of receipt of these 3 phones, the screen was broke on one after a couple accidental drops. Ive dropped my previous phones multiple times and had no broken screen for years. The charger port on another of the phones is already broken and falling out. It just seems like these aren't made like the ones i bought directly from sprint. Not pleased with these phones at all.

Overall, this is a really good phone. It is the best of both worlds for me in a smartphone. It's rugged and LOUD, like I need it to be. The processor isn't as fast as I'd like it to be. It really slows down if you download demanding apps. The camera isn't as fast and the pictures aren't as crisp as I'd like them to be however, there's a lot of cool features for this camera. The battery life on this phone is great.... When you're not using it. The battery has absolutely no chance against playing games, surfing the web or using it for directions. However, the user guide is very upfront about that. Again, overall I'm very happy with this purchase. I would recommend this to any other people looking for a super rugged smartphone that can still hang with the big guys!! Again, thank you.

The Duraforce Pro is a super rugged workhorse of a smartphone. With it's military spec ruggednesI i do not worry about accidental drops which is fortunate as I have aiready dropped it hard face down on a hard wooden floor with no damage or ill effects. It is bulky but not so much that it won't fit in my back pocket comfortably for a rugged phone. The UI is easy to use especially for someone as myself who is challenged by computers and smartphones. With heavy use I get at least a half days use out of it before needing to recharge the phone. I find the 5" display perfect for looking stuff up on Google or watching videos. I like this phone so much that if it ever goes out on me I will replace it with the same model. medioindio

After switching to a new service provider, I needed a phone compatible with the Sprint network. I looked at some Samsung Galaxy models similar to the one I used with Tracfone, but became smitten with Kyocera's DuraForce Pro -- although I definitely am NOT part of their target demographic (i.e., not male, not action-oriented). I had recently bought a rugged little Kyocera flip phone for my mother and liked the idea of a device that can take a beating or survive an accidental drop into a puddle. So the DuraForce Pro, the "smart" big brother of my mother's new phone, had a strong appeal. I found an open-box deal on Ebay, so I was able to get a beautiful new phone for a great price. I also like the very good fingerprint sensor which makes it easy to wake the phone one-handed, the 32 GB built-in storage, the high-res camera (haven't yet tried out the wide-angle lens), and the tough glass screen which doesn't need an after-market shield. My hiking days are behind me, but I love the compass, barometer, and altimeter apps included on the phone. I'm thinking about taking advantage of the phone's wireless charging capability and getting a wireless charging cradle, as the battery doesn't seem to last particularly long in active use with wifi on in the background (about as long as my Samsung Galaxy J7, but nothing to brag about).Read full review
