I wanted to give this film 5 stars, but the beginning is a bit slow and, at first, appears to be predictable. A little girl named Helena loses her first tooth (which in itself was odd, since Helena appears to be nine years old and the tooth is a molar; shouldn't she be losing her front teeth at age five?) Soon Helena becomes obsessed with an evil tooth fairy. Just as I was beginning to lose interest because I thought I knew exactly where the story was going, there were some unusual twists. Everything that appeared to be a loose end or an irrelevant detail was tied up brilliantly, and the backstory was so good I stopped noticing that the actress playing Helena looked a little too old for the part. No sex, no nudity, no crude language. Effectively creepy make-up and lots of blood. If you liked THE RING and DARK WATER, THE HAUNTING OF HELENA is a must-see.Read full review
I watched it once and gave it away. My mom liked it but I really didn't find it scary.
