This is an out of the box review... I will write another after fishing with it and hopefully then will be able to offer a more valuable perspective... That said... I am very pleased with the rod.. The finish and fit are wonderful... I own quite a few fly rods...several Winston, Sage, Scotts, T&T... and another Orvis...a Limestone Special....purchased from Dan Bailey's son John.... This rod is really well built, the fit and finish are superb... The packaging/ rod tube is very nice and as one would expect, Orvis quality... All in all a wonderfully balanced rod.... I took it out and did some grass casting using a 4wt. WF Trout line from Sci. Anglers... Their best line at the time ibpurchased it in 2017... This on a Hardy Marquis... Seemed to balance well...also tried a 4wt. line on a Sage reel... Very nice... Tight loops etc...This, however was/is reassuring...but i will use this as a European Nymph rod, alas the casting etc... Sooo casting a fly line is rather mute pt .. long story short... I really like this rod and look forward to offering a real review... Once it gets its Trout legs... Cheers! (Not going to say tight lines as this is used to the point it really makes me cringe...am i the alone with this,? Or are their others out there that have been "tight lined" to the point of ....? Just curious... So good luck and best wishes for one and all.. Go fishing...life is too short so make the time and go!Read full review
