Works great as a humidifier, but not so as a swamp cooler. Adding ice does cool the air flowing out. Helps extremely well in keeping our skin from getting too dry. Ultimately, we are satisfied with our purchase. Compared to similar units, price was reasonable. One more thing, it had a pungent smell, which dissipated after three or so days of constant use.

Exactly as pictured
After reading some reviews I wondered about the sleep mode going on and off. But after reading the instructions from front to back that is a normal thing for the mechanism to do. It’s unfortunate that people won’t read directions. We live in Colorado so the air is extremely dry so this evaporator cooler works great!
