Notes
Limited foil-numbered, 200gm vinyl pressing of this 1987 ‘college rock’ classic. Two years after the 1983 split of Bauhaus in 1983, former members Daniel Ash, David J, and Kevin Haskins came together to form Love and Rockets. While Ash and Haskins had continued to work together after Bauhaus in the short-lived (but influential) band Tones On Tail, the musical direction the duo pursued was further enhanced when David J joined. While not radically different than the music they had been creating in TOT, the name change to Love & Rockets signified that this was, indeed, a fresh and new musical project from three of post-punk’s most respected musicians. Released in 1987, the band's third studio album Earth Sun Moon strayed slightly from the more gothic and psychedelic style of their previous albums and embraced a more acoustic, folkier sound. It also scored a college radio hit with "No New Tale to Tell."
