To paraphrase the old adage, "If you can find a job that you love, it won't seem like work." That feeling comes through loud and strong in this interesting video expose on one of the most iconic rock albums of all time. Through interviews with all the major players involved with the project, Pink Floyd and DSOTM fans will discover that all these guys really loved what they did (and still do, for that matter!). This DVD release basically takes each song and dissects it from various points of view: writer, performer, producer and technician. For example, we find that Roger Waters had a particular plot of lawn in mind as he penned "Brain Damage", which is one of my personal Floyd favorites. Another nugget for me was Alan Parson's involvement with DSOTM in his pre-Project days. Intertwined with the interviews are cuts of the Floyd performing onstage. It is kinda cool to see how they have aged, but they haven't lost a step. Both Waters and Gilmour pick up guitars to give us private concerts and Waters' acoustic version of "Brain Damage" is both vintage and poignant. For fans of the Floyd, this DVD is highly recommended. Coupled with the additional features on "Pulse" we are given a wide-ranging inside insight into one of the greatest rock 'n' roll bands of all time.Read full review
I'm a lifelong Pink Floyd fan and somehow I never saw this DVD before! It is well done and gives a lot of very interesting information about the album and each song. I would recommend this to anyone who has listened to the album dark side of the moon and enjoyed it.

Watching this DVD certainly puts you in the action. I found Roger Waters to be very thought provoking. Seeing and listening to the process of how they did things then in terms of recording the album and the craft of record making gives you an appreciation for the simpler way of recording. Where the ideas and music making process, the songwriting, the message, were thought out. And this is due I feel to how music was recorded then on big analogue recording studios. In comparison with today for example, I've seen so many an recording artist and production team mousing around with menu's and icons and more fascinated with the technology rather than the music and its message, or more accurately, its communication. I think this is the sort of video you sit your kid down with and point that out.Read full review

If you love Pink Floyd then this is a must have for the die-hard fan. It hits on the greatest parts what Pink Floyd is and what it has become over the years. I just wish the dvd had played the whole album instead of bits and pieces of it. It shows how the album was made and does touch on the music. Dark Side is one of the best albums of all time! I thought I was getting a whole concert of it that is why I bought it and I was alittle sad when it was not. But still a GREAT find!!!!!!
This DVD was Released to coincide with the 30th anniversary of this classic album, Its Got Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Nick Mason, and Richard Wright, and they all give interviews, and there are a couple good solo's as well. I highly recomend this for any Pink Floyd Fan, and I really enjoyed it.
