Perfect blend of background, battle, and details for the historian and war gamer alike.
Excellent book provides a brief overview of the Franco-Prussian war without getting bogged down in too much history for a book whose topic is one battle (and likely what readers purchased it for). Superb guide for war gamers or military history readers. Appendix has OOB for both French and Prussians including both the overall army compositions going into the war and specifically a more detailed breakdown of the formations involved at Mars la Tour. Ton of value here.
