Easy to install. the only hiccup i had was that the water pipe where i live needed a different adapter, but the seller found it for me so i bought it on a local home depot. The water doesn't have the best taste I've had before, but i love it because i don't pay for water at home and i don't need to buy drinking water anymore. Saving over $100 a month. Update 4/30/19 Absolutely love the water taste! it just so happens that i had to let the water run at least 5 times to make the filter eliminate all bad taste including the new filter taste. Highly recommended since its so easy to install.. Now, beware, the manual is not the best, you really need to read it slowly since the filters are not numbered matching the sockets where you're supposed to put them. Update 4/24/22 This became part of my life lol. Wherever I go, I'll install one of these. Replacing the filters is such a breeze! the only difficult thing i can think of about changing the filter depends on how narrow the space is where you installed it. In my case is narrow and the drawer where the sink is installed is rather deep, and i attached the filter all the way in the back. Other than that all you have to do is shut the intake line, drain the tank completely, and as soon as it stops draining, remove all the filters you want to replace. So far i replaced all the filters. I know that the RO filter is supposed to be changed around 5yrs, but the water quality where i live is really bad. If you aren't sure about getting this, It is totally worth the money and effort. The price went up since i bought it, but it is still worth it. Saving more than 100 a month since prices have gone up. Update 8/27/22 Changed the filters again. Had to reduce the time between replacements due to how bad the water quality is in NY queens. I believe i bought this filter around January 2019, and now in 8/27/22 is when i used all the filters that this RO system brings. If they raise the price to 200 it would still be worth it. Trust me.Read full review

I was replacing an existing unit that has been in my house for almost 20 years. Design was very similar to the old one I had purchased from a local store 20 years ago. Most of the parts are of same dimensions so no drilling on existing pipes were required. However, compared to my previous version, this unit was missing a few perks which the old ones had. Each connector on the old system had a screw notch so it's secure. The new ones don't have any of that, just push and click connectors which in my oppinion can move and become disconnected over time and movement. In addition, the tubes going to the dispenser does not have a notch to keep the tube from falling from off the dispenser as the old ones had - I reused the old tubes on this connector. The old tube connecting untreated water to the filter had an off switch before going into the filter system. When everything was connected, the off switched saved me from massive leaking on the unit. Some of the original tubes didn't work, so had to switch it out to get the tubes to click properly so it doesn't leak. Had to really tighten the filter compartments to avoid leaking, and ensure a click is heard when connecting the tubes to the receptacles, otherwise leaks will occur. Flushed out twice before using the water which seem decent for the price. Spent about 4 hours from start to finish, with leak fixes along the way- I made sure we had teflon tape after reading all the reviews and watched a few youtube videos to get a sense of how the unit works. No instructions on the membrane installation, had to find it on youtube. Would be 100% happy had proper instructions came with shipment. Still consider a good purchase for the price. Hope filters are still available when I need them four years down the line:).Read full review

"I must say that the instruction manual leaves a whole lot to be desired especially with respect to not being the manual for this model apparently. The manual included is for the larger pump powered version. Also; not everyone just had a roll of plumbing/teflon tape laying around and its only an .80 additional expense to the manufacturer at the most; so be sure to add the tape to your cart if interested in this unit. Somthing that most other company's include in thier kits is the Teflon Tape; its a matter of principle and care against leaks for product integrity. Also; why not label the filtration compartments on the actual manifold. We had to listen to a youtube video for the proper drill bit size for the faucet attachment and waste out hole to the drainage pipe; something that should be listed in the manual. For $137; got over it real quick. Once you get it set up they work well."Read full review

RO is an aggressive form of filtering, that takes almost everything out of the water fed into it-it's the same system some bottled water suppliers use! It works great, as long as you realize that for this price the membrane will not make a lot of water fast. Not hard to install, but if you choose not to put it under the sink (I put in basement below sink), none of the hoses fit. Problem solved with purchase of an icemaker install kit, and it has other things in it that make the installation easier, too! Overall, am very happy I bought it-I enjoy my own well water once again! No more bottled water!

The unit and treated water are great, The instructions are vague in key areas. For instance, there is no explanation of the purpose of the drain bypass which runs in parallel with the drain restrictor. We figured out by trial and error that it needs to remain closed in order for the pressure tank to fill. It also doesn't tell how to check the pressure on the tank or how to pressurize it. One of the three way valves did not mesh with the available fittings, but was able to find a work around. The filter stand takes up a lot of room, but it is very convenient to have them all of the filters in one easy to move unit. All in all would recommend this system, but you may need to have the company walk you through some installation steps.

This is hands down the best deal I could find anywhere and very easy to install. Will pay for it self in no time. Water quality is great. I use it to make saltwater for my aquarium too. Just add a di filter for that separate from the drinking water connection.

We really like the unit. It's basically the same process that companies use to make bottled water from a municipal supply. If you want to call Alsea OR a decent supply. Our muni water WILL make people sick, especially "we" elderly and young kids. I know one kid these phonies have gotten a permanent disability for stomach problems rather than provide decent water. The problem with Alsea's water is microbial contamination. The people who monitor this lie routinely, like most other government, to include falsifying reports and switching water samples. "To the best of my knowledge, there is no relationship between (exposure to) sewage and cancer." and the like. The UV sterilizer was very important to me for this reason. Without this, microbes can migrate past the filters. A lot of them would be removed, but without UV some would remain- the lesser filters are NOT rated for microbes. The grade school level consumers around here complained loudly that there used to be too much chlorine smell in the muni water- they don't understand that the only time you get chlorine smell is when there are things for the chlorine to work against. But it's easier not to do. The unit that puts minerals back into the treated water worked a little too well at first, and made the product cloudy. But this cleared up by the second day, and we really enjoy the taste of the product water, and I'm sure that the minerals are good for us. We were using approx 120 gallons of bottled water per month before we installed this. At this rate, the unit will pay for itself in approx 6 weeks. Filters should cost about 15 dollars per month.Read full review

I had questions about installation two different times. They responded immediately both times. The second time a gentlemen, Mike, called me to personally help me with my problem. They even supplied extra hose and a tee fitting so I could hook up my ice maker. NEVER had this happen before. Great surprise. Fantastic job, MIKE!!! The actual installation was easy after my concerns were addressed. Had a leak at the pressure tank but that was my fault for not using enough teflon tape. The taste of the water and ice cubes, EXCELLENT. Better than ANY city water I ever used. The ice cubes are clear as glass. My coffee pot perks in half the time. No hard water marks, no sediment plugging the holes. Amazing. Will never go back to city water again.
