Thin and not very strong magnetic rubber
I can't agree that these are a good value. When they come in the package you would think, "yes, this is exactly what I need to cover those vents or registers." Well, maybe if you are using them strictly on floor registers they might stay in place (but I doubt it). They are too thin and they will not hold on a wall or ceiling register. Whoops
I thought this would be excellent to cut down on the flow of air in our church classroom. It is often too hot or too cold. We placed it on the vents as instructed and when the ac came on it blew off and down. Would be great if it would stay in place.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very weak magnet
I have a different brand on a single ceiling vent and never had any trouble even with a minimally open vent. This brand however is very weak and falls off the ceiling vents when there is any airflow on a closed vent. I will have to tape them up or buy a different brand. Only works on flat surface vents
The magnet is not that strong, but it would suffice if the surface you are affixing it to is flat, like a fridge door. Unfortunately, my vents' slats stick up past the surface, and this magnet is not strong enough to stick to the edges of the slats, so it does not work for mine. I think that if the slats went in toward the duct and not out toward the room, then this item would probably work just fine.
