An inexpensive patio heater that performs its task well - a few little flaws but overall a great buy

This heater throws off good heat, is safe, is better-looking than many, and is a great value. Two little keep it from rating 5 out of 5. The igniter is reliable but the ignition process seems to take longer than it should--for some reason it takes 30 seconds of pushing on the 'flow' knob to get the pilot lit and the flame launched. And the front panel is attached only by a magnet, a better locking mechanism would have been a simple addition. But overall the device works just as it should, the sight of the flame in the glass tube is glorious, the heating effect is perfect for a fall night - it's an excellent buy.

Does not put out much heat.

It arrived broken, I had to fix many parts. I thought it was a full size patio heater, not a table top, but that is on me, I should have read the fine print better. Also, it's does not put off much heat. It's more for a cool summer evening, not the middle of winter in the north west. I can warm my hands if I put them over the top, I also thought it would take a large propane tank, it takes the small green cans. But, it can sit on a patio table, with a hole for an umbrella, and hook up to a large tank that way if you want. Very disappointed. But it will be nice when spring / summer arrives. It's really just for the look.

  • Pretty, well made, not a lot of heat.

It's like a really safe, bright bonfire without the risk of getting burned. It went together easily, lights easily, looks great. But it doesn't put out a lot of heat and is probably not much use below 50F other than for ambience. The mushroom heaters put out more heat but don't look nearly as cool. So I bought one of each.

  • Great for warm winter nights.

We were looking for a stylish heater to use outside in Colorado during the winter months. This one is definitely stylish, although best suited for "warm" winter nights of around 40 degrees or above. The issue is one that is common with many patio heaters that use a propane tank as the heat source. Because of the height of the propane tank, the flame/heat is directed near or above your head when you're sitting down. Unfortunately, there is no way around this. When sitting, it would be better to have heat near your mid-section to keep you warm which is impossible for units that use a propane tank as part of their design. We have enjoyed the heater on warmer winter nights (and it will be great during the summer and fall) but it will not be adequate for a typical Colorado winter night. It looks great though!

  • Exactly as expected

Needs assembly, but not difficult. Allow space. Parts fit together nicely. Well made. Lights easily with adjustable flame. Heat distributes better on calm days/nights with little to no wind. Looks great! I recommend a cover to protect from weather when not in use, unless you have someplace to store. Looking for a second one.

  • Good looking but doesn't produce all that much heat

Takes a while to assemble, but the instructions are clear enough. Many manufacturers provide a few screws in case you lose some, but this came with the exact number required and no more. The main burner assembly had clearly been crushed and was out of alignment; thankfully the metal parts are easy enough to bend back into the right position. There was no external damage to the package so this might have been damaged during manufacturing; however it could equally have happened if the boxes were stacked too high. There's a metal strap inside that the propane tank sits against, with a nylon strap to stop the tank moving around. This part is a bit of a joke, the tank easily bends the metal strap if you move the heater without removing the tank. Once assembled, this thing looks beautiful. It doesn't put out as much heat as the standard heaters with the burner at the top, but it also seems to have fewer parts that can go wrong. Overall I am happy with this heater but I don't think it's great value for money as a heater. As a stylish outdoor ornament that happens to provide a little warmth, it's better value but really you should buy one in summer when they cost half the price.

  • Large flame, but not a ton of heat

Product arrived faster than expected. Bought two of these units for a outdoor wedding weekend. They look really nice when lit at night. Large flame, but not a ton of heat around the unit unless you are standing close. Assembly was not terrible, first one took about 1-1/2 hours to build, second one in half the time once I knew what pieces went where. Decent construction for the price, it's kind of "you get what you pay for"

  • The company I purchased from is definitely first class - they stand behind what they sell

I actually purchased this, not as a heater but something that would be attractive on the patio, low and behold, it has served both purposes, heat and beauty. What is even better is the company I purchased it from they are outstanding and were always following up. I thank them for that.

  • It’s attractive, but.......

One of the two I bought came with the “igniter panel” hanging down inside the unit - two nuts were missing. Then the instructions suggest using a auto polish on the lower panel because “powder coatings don’t hold up well in heat and moisture”. Not very re-assuring. I had to do some minor tweaks on the glass cylinder bushings, too. Apart from that, the unit looks nice and lights first time. Not a lot of heat, but the flames sure look good......

  • Doesn’t put out as much heat as other heaters

Bought this heater a month ago, it takes a while to put it together. I had a different style heater (light pole style), which this one replaced. It does not put out as much heat as my old heater.
