I bought this for my lab to measure several chemicals for my experiment. It powered on okay, and comes with a 200g balance for calibration. I did the calibration, and everything seemed fine, until you put on the item you want to measure. To ensure accuracy, I put my balance on an anti-vibration table and in upright position. I want to measure 3mg of my chemical on a piece of weighing paper, and I quickly noticed couple problems: 1. The reading never stabilized: when I put just a little of my chemical (roughly 3mg as measured from a real analytical balance), the reading varied between 2mg to 7mg, and it never settled to a definite amount; I waited over 10 minutes and it does not stabilize. 2. The reading is very slow: this is immediately apparent when you remove the 200g reference standard from the balance, the reading takes about 6-7 seconds to go back to 0g. In addition, after calibration, if you put the 200g standard back on, it will read 199.994-199.997 g, and never exactly 200g. This may be good enough for some, but this is clearly not as accurate as the manufacturer's specification, and cannot be called analytical balance by any means (probably a precision balance). I would return this item, but I did the test way past the 30 day period so I do not have the option to return any more. I would recommend anyone looking for good balance to go to other brand like Sartorius, VWR, Fisher instead; they are more expensive, but reliable. Best, BensonRead full review

the people complaining it didn't read the scales minimum weight. the scale will measure less than 1 mg fine once the 10 mg minimum is on board. if you want to measure in mg or less you need to use a 10 mg weight to meet the minimum. its not rocket science, read the instructions.get a 10mg weight and drive on.
