Having owned an AT Series 8 with a nude Shibata diamond ($250), I was not sure if I'd hear much of a difference. Wow was I wrong. Tracking the AT VM750SH on old records was like mining new music gold. American Beauty MFSL 1st ed. sounded like a new record. The cartridge was tracking deep in the groove to where there was virtually no noise, just great music. The 30 db channel separation is most notable vs the 29 db in the Series 8. I was planning to get a phono preamp w/ a variable gain setting ($200-$500). This was absolutely money better well spent on upgrading my cartridge. A great value to improve your Turntable sound.
