The CD itself is in excellent shape, sound quality is excellent. However, the song lyric page should have been printed out in quarter-fold style--instead, when you open out the paper inside the CD jewel case, the song lyrics for all ten songs are printed on one jewel-case-sized piece of paper. Since I don't have perfect eyesight, I can't speak for those who do, but I absolutely cannot read the lyric sheet! I know that's not important to many people, but I've always enjoyed listening to a CD while following along with the lyric sheet, when it's available. As for why I decided to buy it...as I alluded to in the title of this review, I spent many hours in junior high and high school listening to music on my stereo. I always liked "Hanging on a Heart Attack", and at one point I taped it from the radio onto a cassette tape. The sound quality of the cassette has faded significantly over the years, and at some point I'm probably going to have to get rid of my tapes entirely, once my current two-deck player gives out, since they don't make players anymore (as far as I know, anyway). So, I'm now trying to collect all of my favorite taped songs, by their respective artists, in CD format.Read full review
Device's only album, 22B3, was released in the spring of 1986. It produced a Top 40 single in the U.S. with "Hanging on a Heart Attack," which peaked at #35 on the Hot 100. The band's second single, "Who Says," peaked at #79. Both of these songs were promoted by music videos which garnered MTV rotation, and both were released as 12" singles with remix and dub versions which received club play. A third single, "When Love is Good" was released, while the album peaked at #73 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. Mike Chapman produced the album.
This record is a true raritie! It was re-released in the nineties through Renaissance records,The first oportunitie that I had to listen to this material I was dazzled how could lite AOR could match so well techno-pop,and the New Romantics-style like Human League,Duran Duran and Berlin p:.Extremely 80`s.Extremely recomended.Extremely rare!Remarcable keybords, eletronic drums, awsome production.Should have been an classic!Pat Benatar, meets Human League, meets 80`s New Wave Style!!!!
If you are reading this, then you probably already know that. If you didn’t, then buy this group’s only album because it’s SO worth it. Loved the album in the late 80’s and it holds up superbly in 2019.
