Great DIY replacement for expensive Sub Zero repairs

This is a very nice, efficient, and quiet motor which will work in Sub Zero 550 and probably countless other applications where you need a 100% duty cycle motor at a bargain price. The thing only consumes about 2.5 watts so matches well with original equipment. Very quiet and simple to install so no reason to pay hundreds in a service call fees. Just follow your original wiring and anyone can install in about 30 minutes from un-boxing to clean-up.

Quick Ship - Exact Part, Poor Reliability

This is an exact replacement for the Sub Zero fan in our refrigerator. It went in perfectly. However, as another reviewer has noted, this unit started making a tremendous squeeling/racket after 6 months of use. It has gotten so loud, it is difficult to hear conversations on the phone or the TV. The supplier was great, the product is terrible. We will see how the one year warranty replacement process goes.

  • First time around with this motor.

I have read some reviews that said this motor starts to make a lot of noise after about six months. I’ve only had it installed for a week and it is loud, but efficient. Time will tell if all the motor only last a short while as per the bad reviews. The original factory motor from subzero lasted 27 years at my house. If I get 10 years from the Supco motor I would call it an excellent value.

  • Good Replacement Part

This part has been purchased as a standby spare, if needed for a future repair of Sub-Zero 501F or 501R. These Sub-Zero old appliances have been in service for more than 20 years and have to be packed by critical spares, such as this condenser fan motor.

  • Good but.

So far, so good. No complaints whatsoever. I’m a handyman homeowner with two sub-zero’s sitting side by side in our new home. I calculate that between new parts and tech rates I saved at least $250.00. Not too darn bad!

  • not the exact

good motor easy installation but does not seem to be the same motor as what the serial number indicates a few differences, installed anyway all good fridge is operating

  • Perfect fit

Perfect fit, was specified for a Subzero but I used it in a Viking. Was $200 less than the Viking part. Very smooth running motor and well made.

  • Exact replacement for Sub-zero 511

Need to swap fan blade and felt washer underneath because new ones come with the kit are too thick. Motor speed is about 200+ rpm more than the stock unit = better cooling but a bit noisier no big deal.

  • Too noisy

It works. This fan is NOISY and has a little vibration. The fan noise is very loud in the kitchen. The original we hardly knew when it was running. You know when this one is running.

  • Poor lubrication

Bearings started squealing the first week of use
