  • Awesome value for money!

It is a great phone to begin with, but build quality is what made it awesome for me. This phone is elegant. Very comfortable in hand. Feels substantial and solid. A pleasure to use. I think Honor made sacrifices in all the right places. I normally take a long time to find the absolute best bargain for my money which means design is not on top of my priority list. But in addition to being attractive, this phone has strong internals. Yeah, it doesn't have the latest processor or 6gb of RAM like on the OnePlus 3T I had, but I really don't feel like I'm missing it. It's slippery without a case and doesn't have OIS, but picture quality is outstanding nonetheless. At this price point, it's hard to find something better

  • Excellent phone!

I actually switched from a Google Pixel to the Huawei Honor 8 and I couldn't be happier. For a fraction of the price the Honor 8 is excellent overall, battery life has been amazing and for the money, it's tough to beat. Go buy one!

  • great

Bought two of these phones to replace a moto g 4th gen and a moto x pure. This phone is miles ahead of the moto as far as I'm concerned . I don't play games or watch movies on it just the normal stuff. I bet I could get 2.5/3 days out of the battery if I needed to. It updated to 7,0 and new Huawei interface right away. No more ghost touch moto g4, no more battery drain moto x pure. No more bad usb port. The only issue is lack of good cases online. Same issue I had with moto but worse. Would like to find a holster case for when at work(electrician). I hope that Huawei keeps the updates moving forward on this phone for a while. Moto promised but kicked us to the side when new models came out.

  • What a great phone!

If you are thinking of buying this phone in early 2017, and the price is under $300, don't hesitate! It's a fantastic phone. It runs super smooth, as smooth and fast in real world usage as the Galaxy S7 or the Pixel XL. It has a camera that comes close to those phones as well. Android 7.0 is really well made, and Huawei's EMUI 5.0 skin (which Honors uses at it is a subsidiary of Huawei) adds some neat features as well. Overall, I still prefer the look of stock Android, but with Nova launcher, I never notice the difference unless I'm playing around in settings. The lock screen is different too, but the fingerprint sensor is very fast and works almost every time, so I hardly see the lockscreen anyway. One of the best features of this phone is that it supports MicroSD expansion up to 256GB! Unfortunately, this phone is not water proof, and another limitation is that because it uses a lot of glass in the construction, it can be prone to cracking. My phone came with a thin clear case and a glass screen protector, and it has been very sturdy so far. Once you hold this phone in your hands, you will realize what a crazy bargain it is. A lot of these phones are selling for under $300, and I would consider that an automatic buy over newer phones in the price range like the Moto G5, Honor 6x, etc. I don't know how much longer into 2017 this phone will stay competitive at this price point, but probably sometime around July, phones like the Honor 9, OnePlus 4, and Axon 8 will be dropping, and those may prove to be better performance per dollar. In the meantime, I am beyond happy with my Honor 8, and I think it will serve me very well for at least the next two years. Oh, one last thing: the screen is 5.2" diagonal, Full HD, very bright and sharp, but may be on the small side for people used to larger screened phones. For me, its perfect because I like to be able to use my phone with one hand, although if you have smaller hands, you may still need two. Can't wait until the 18:9 screen ratio craze catches on with these cheaper devices!
