If your kit includes an oiled filter, it only requires cleaning every 100,000 miles under normal highway driving conditions (as opposed to 15,000-20,000 miles for a disposable filter), and a K&N Dryflow filter can go up to 50,000 miles before cleaning.

An awesome air intake option for your W-body 3800 car.
I bought this induction intake system mainly for 2 reasons.
1. I like the K&N name brand
2. Really wasn't happy with the other options available.
Of course there's the ZZ Performance intake but I don't like the dryer duct looking intake tube. Looks cheap and ghetto if you ask me. They also offer the fender well intake kit but in my humble opinion, a black intake tube kind of looks boring under the hood. This intake system has a nice box to shield the air filter from hot air like that ZZ Performance system I was ragging on earlier, it also includes a composite intake tube, leaps and bounds ahead of that dryer duct. You also get a nice, high performance K&N air filter to complete the installation. Note: I have not mentioned anything about power. Realistically all these intakes will make about the same power on the dyno... in fact I would go as far as to say they probably won't make any more than the stock system. The difference here is strictly aesthetics, cost, sound, and name brand. Overall I am pleased with this system and would purchase again
