OEM sensors are the only way to go
The Motorcraft DY967 is a direct fit for my 2000 Ford Explorer 4.0 overhead valve engine. Although that part will fit many different configurations as far as engine size and year, but I’m still having trouble with mine and I have discussed with the Ford professionals and found out that they have a throttle positioning sensor made just for my overhead valve engine, that will read better from the PCM, that’s what I’m looking for. I had purchased a couple of after market throttle position sensors that were worse than the one I was replacing. I had to stick a branch between the seat and the accelerator pedal until it warmed up. And even then it would cut off if you didn't keep your feet on the accelerator. With the motorcraft tps, there's no more branch and no more cutting off.
