These units -- which are in essence a controlled relay -- are very useful if you want to use X10 beyond it's base capabilities of switching lamps and appliances on and off. I use them primarily for controlling props in big Halloween setup I do in my front yard every year. They are perfect for triggering audio chips and animation circuits to run or any other external item that can be activated by low voltage. The only possible "negative" I've heard some people complain about with these is that they make a distinct click sound when switching on or off, but in my applications that is not an issue. Frankly am not sure why some users are bothered by it; perhaps they are using them in a manner where the units are being turned on and off in rapid fashion continuously, in which case i could see constant clicking being annoyingRead full review

This product will work really well with any X-10 Controller! Highly recommend getting this.

The older units last much longer that the ones built today. The only down side of this is the noise it makes when its activated, a very loud relay noise.

Nice unit much like an appliance module but has dry contacts much like a relay or switch. If you have anything that requires a simple short to turn it on.... this is it.

Ordered this a few days ago and, voila!, it's here. Ordered it to replace a broken X-10 universal module (used to automatically close my garage door). Exact replacement, installed in two minutes. Working great again!
