great knife
I have a knife similar to this that I have used for nearly 20 years now. It's the best pairing knife I've ever owned. I originally had two and finally broke one off at the handle nearly 7 years ago. I've been looking ever since for a replacement before the other, which is used daily, finally wears out on me. I've bought probably a half dozen over the last seven years and the blades on these knives just never seemed sharp enough for fine cutting. This knife is a different brand but nearly 100% identical handle and serrations on the blade. I ordered one and sure enough it's virtually an exact match as my old one.. just a bit sharper though. I ordered a second one for a back up and I may order a third for my daughter for when she moves out some day. She knows the hassles I've gone through to finally find a good one and she can tell the difference between all the ones we've bought and this knife.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Tramontina 3" paring knives are fantastic!
These Tramontina 3" paring knives are fantastic! I've been using these made in Brazil Tramontina knives for years - they cut everything (produce, meat) extremely well and never get dull. I have eight or so that are at least 15 years old, I use them daily, and they cut just as good as they did when new. The ones I bought recently on Ebay are the same blade design (the handle is slightly different), and they cut every bit as well as the older ones, and they are still made in Brazil. THE TRAMONTINA KNIVES MADE IN BRAZIL KEEP THEIR SHARPNESS OVER THE YEARS
Over two decades ago I bought a few of the 5" knives made in Brazil at a hardware store plus the 3" one. The price was right and they appeared to do a good job. And I was so right! Initially, I gave one or two away but kept the others... two still in the original cardboard packaging. I had temporarily lost (under a cabinet) the 3" which I could not do without; hence this purchase. I found the same knife but with a Bakelite handle elsewhere and bought it ... Love it too!. The knives in use still have the original sharpness. I have other chef-style knives that are not comfortable for me to handle. Perfect paring knife
This is probably the best paring knife I’ve had. The combination of price and performance are outstanding. What makes this knife so good is the microserrated edge. It cuts more smoothly than a regular serrated edge, with the same cutting ability. It keeps its edge better than a plain edged knife. The handle is solid , comfortable, and a nice size.
