it was a non working fan in which i put in the US Motors RESCUE 9662 Permanent split capacitor 3.3 inch motor and a variable speed switch to get this to work again as i got this to work only briefly before the DC Brushless motor shorted out in it as the PSC motor is the only cost effective way to get it to work and it works equally well as a vintage vornado fan does as this is a full size circulator for larger rooms and its used in a bedroom with the variable speed switch i put in using the fan's original knob on the low speed setting it keeps the air circulating with it pointed up to the ceiling to destratisfy the air when it gets colder to bring the heated air off the ceiling. as the dc motor is made by Delta Electronics made in China while Vornado claims on its site it says assembled in USA as its a US made fan with a forign motor as the US motors i put in it its china made but does quite well and the blades spin down much longer due to this motor having ball bearings. as normally i replace fan motors with the FASCO brand but went a different route for this fan project. it will work for a while but highly recommended getting a regular AC motor mainly a Permanent Split capacitor motor FASCO or whatever motor you choose to use a 1/30 hp 3.3 inch motor either a PSC or a shaded pole type motor. as i used the PSC motor as its more energy efficient and more efficient than typical 4 pole shaded pole 3.3 inch motors but however you will need to extend the studs on the new motor by drilling the studs out and putting in longer screws which requires dissasembly of the motor to do but it was well worth it and the fan works good.
