  • Good Thrower, Better Knife

This is a tough piece of steel. It's well tempered and super-cool looking. I've thrown it at stumps as well as my plywood target and there is no chipping or distortion at all. The coating is holding up well, but that always takes a beating. This is a better knife than it is a throwing knife. I don't feel comfortable throwing it by the tip of the blade. The up-curve is a bit intimidating. This knife must be thrown by the handle. It's not forgiving at all, you have to keep it upright (where it spins flat, like it were spinning on a table, only straight up and down) for it to throw evenly. It's a complicated knife to throw. That being said, it penetrated incredibly and can be learned. Before you know it, you're sticking it more than not. It's a beast, that's for sure. It takes some umph to throw it smoothly at any distance. This is a great knife for the money, but it's a challenging thrower for the beginner..
